Did you try using the -n option?
copycds -n <isoname.iso>
or
copycds --osver = <os.iso>

I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to deal with this error. I was following the steps here https://sourceforge.net/p/xcat/wiki/XCAT_Virtualization_with_VMWare/#introduction

copycds /tmp/VMware-VMvisor-Installer-5.5.0.update03-4345813.x86_64-Dell_Customized-A08.iso
Error: copycds could not identify the ISO supplied, you may wish to try -n <osver>
